Technology in the Health Care System

Technology is a very unique and new tool that continues to evolve overtime. Although, technology benefits the health care system in many ways, I believe that it doesn’t help overcome communication barriers. Communication is very important but poses its challenges. It causes a language barrier between the speaker and the subject and is commonly found within the nursing field. I think that many nurses do not use technology to help overcome these barriers instead they think of a creative plan or idea to help the patient understand their medical condition. For example, drawing pictures or asking family member to translate medical conditions is useful and creative tools to overcome communication barriers. These tools do not involve technology therefore technology is not helpful in overcoming communication barriers.
