Health Care in 3rd World Countries

I sincerely believe that Canada has one of the best health care systems. In contrast, third world countries struggle to provide proper health care. It is upsetting to see how many children scrounge through the piles of garbage to look for food, and the length they go to, to seek unsanitary water. As a result, many children and adults develop diseases which are not difficult to treat but they are unable to adhere to doctors for treatment due to socio economic status. It continues to amaze me how the government fails to recognize the dire needs of its citizens. It always saddens me when I see children’s future taken away when they die from diseases that could have been easily cured or prevented.

It is wonderful to know that potential health care professionals of today are gearing towards the correct mindset.

Although it is undoubtedly true that third world nations have failed to provide the adequate medical care to the needy, the past has shown that volunteers can be key in filling that void. With advanced technology and a stable economy, Canada has the potential to become the basin of hope for children continents away. Thus, the key to tomorrow's success rests in the youth of today, and their dedication to solving problems created by other people.
